How to Dream up a Vision of Your Luxury Pool

If you've just bought a new property with plenty of adjacent land, you may be dreaming about installing a luxury designer pool. After all, you really want to take advantage of the great Australian weather year-round. There are a number of different elements to consider as you are dreaming, however, but the good news is that you are only limited by two things – your imagination and your budget. What are some of the conditions to chew over as you let your mind wander?

Use the Surroundings

First and foremost, have a look at the overall site in relation to your potential pool. How is it going to blend in with the surrounding landscape and how are you going to take advantage of a fantastic view if you have one? Just imagine how you could create an infinity pool with a vanishing edge, blending into that far off vista. On the other hand, if you don't have a view apart from your neighbour's house, maybe you can incorporate some waterfalls and rockeries to make your own impact.

Remember Size Isn't Everything

You don't have to go overboard by creating an Olympic size pool, as small creations can be equally as eye-catching and still be luxurious. If you plan on extensive landscaping work in and around the place where you will site the pool, then you may want to design something that has rounded edges and unusual shapes, rather than being the traditional rectangle. This type of approach may also fit in very well with a cascading waterfall.

Add the Glamour

You will want to get away from plain finishes and ordinary borders. You should consider putting a mosaic design on the bottom of the pool as well, while ceramic tiles can certainly add a splash of glamour.

Walk in, Sit down, View Light Show

You might want to include a walk-in sloped option at one end, or a swim-up bar at the other. You can put fixed stools within the pool and under the surface for people to sit on as they enjoy a beverage and some shade at the bar. Don't forget that lighting is everything and you can put a state-of-the-art lighting system within that can be triggered by movement or can change colours subtly throughout the night.

You might have the most fertile imagination, but it's likely that a luxury pool contractor will have a number of other options for you to consider. Remember that two minds are better than one, so plan a consultation today.
